Olen jatko-opiskelija Welfare, Health and Management (WELMA) -tohtoriohjelmassa, Itä-Suomen yliopistossa. Kuulun Arto O. Salosen Kestävän hyvinvoinnin tutkimusryhmään. Alla väitöskirjatutkimukseni ”Väkivalta hyvinvoinnin murtajana – turvan uudelleen rakentuminen” aineiston keruun tietosuojailmoitus tutkimukseen osallistuville.

Informaatio henkilötietojen käsittelystä
Väkivallasta Turvaan -tutkimuksessa ei kerätä tarkoituksellisesti henkilötietoja, mutta toisinaan niitä voi sisältyä vapaasti kirjoitettuihin teksteihin. Tietosuojalainsäädäntö edellyttää näissä tilanteissa, että tutkimukseen osallistuville annetaan kuvaus henkilötietojen käsittelystä.

Rekisterinpitäjät

Henkilötietojen käyttötarkoitus
Taustatietojasi ja kirjoitustasi käytetään väitöskirjatutkimukseen, jossa tarkoituksena on tutkia lähisuhdeväkivallasta selviytymistä ja toipumista.

Käsittelyn oikeusperuste
Käsittelyn oikeusperuste on yleisen edun mukainen tieteellinen tutkimus.

Henkilötietojen säilytysaika
Henkilötiedot poistetaan kirjoituksista viimeistään kahden vuoden kuluttua aineiston keräämisestä. Tunnisteettomia kirjoituksia käytetään tutkimustarkoituksessa niin kauan, että väitöstutkimus on valmistunut.

Tietojen siirrot
Tietoarkisto siirtää Penna-alustalle tulleet kirjoitukset keruun päätyttyä tutkija Johanna Linner Matikalle. Henkilötietojasi ei siirretä tutkimusryhmän ulkopuolisille tahoille eikä EU:n tai ETA-alueen ulkopuolelle.

Muut vaikutukset
Osallistuminen on vapaaehtoista. Henkilötietojen antamiseen ei ole lakiin tai sopimukseen perustuvaa velvollisuutta, eikä tietojesi perusteella tehdä automaattisia päätöksiä eikä profilointia. Tutkimustulokset julkaistaan niin, että ketään yksittäistä henkilöä ei voi tunnistaa.

Rekisteröidyn oikeudet
Rekisteröitynä sinulla on oikeus saada informaatiota henkilötietojen käsittelystä, tarkistaa tietosi, oikaista tietojasi, rajoittaa tietojesi käsittelyä, vastustaa tietojen käsittelyä (ei sovelleta tieteellisessä tutkimuksessa, jos käsittely on tarpeen yleistä etua koskevan tehtävän suorittamiseksi). Lisäksi sinulla on oikeus tehdä ilmoitus Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimistoon, jos koet, että henkilötietojasi on käsitelty lainsäädännön vastaisesti (sähköposti: tietosuoja@om.fi). Oikeuksiasi voit käyttää ja lisätietoja henkilötietojen käsittelystä saat ottamalla yhteyttä rekisteripitäjään.

Privacy notice

I am a doctoral student in the Doctoral Programme in Welfare, Health and Management (WELMA) at the University of Eastern Finland. I am a member of Arto O. Salonen’s research group on sustainable well-being. Below is the data protection notice for the data collection of my doctoral dissertation “From violence to safety” research participants.

Information on the processing of personal data
The study does not intentionally collect personal data, but sometimes it may be included in freely written texts. In these situations, data protection legislation requires that research participants be given a description of the processing of personal data.

Purpose of use of personal data
Your background information and writing will be used for doctoral dissertation research, the purpose of which is to study coping with and recovering from intimate partner violence.

Legal basis for processing
The legal basis for processing is scientific research in the public interest.

Retention period of personal data
Personal data will be removed from the writings no later than two years after the data has been collected. Unidentified writings are used for research purposes until the dissertation has been completed.

Data transfers
At the end of the collection, the Finnish Data Archive will transfer the writings received on the Penna platform to researcher Johanna Linner Matikka. Your personal data will not be transferred to parties outside the research group or outside the EU or EEA.

Other effects
Participation is voluntary. There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide personal data, and no automated decisions or profiling are made based on your data. The research results are published in such a way that no individual person can be identified.

Rights of the data subject
As a data subject, you have the right to be informed about the processing of personal data, to verify your data, to rectify your data, to restrict the processing of your data, to object to the processing of the data (not applicable in scientific research if the processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest). In addition, you have the right to notify the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman if you feel that your personal data has been processed in violation of legislation (e-mail: tietosuoja@om.fi). You can exercise your rights and for more information on the processing of personal data, please contact the data controller.
